I want a "tall" tire to help some with the speed (stock rear-end and torque tube) but mostly to fill up the wheel wells. Can someone recommend the largest size which would fit and not contact any sheet metal during turns or bumps? Also, would you recommend radial or bias tires? Thanks for any help and advice.

In the 1954 shop manual, I see trucks with 15" rims had 6.70-15 tires. This equates to 195R15. I couldn't find a manufacturer that actually makes such a tire at a reasonable price. Going a bit wider, 205-75R15 seems like a common size. Examples are General Grabber AT2, BFG Long Trail T/A Tour, Goodyear Assurance All Season.
Fran wants me to get the wide white walls but I like the black walls. Probably cost me $100 more per tire for the white walls which will be ruined the first time they meet the curb.
