What is the correct layout of the bolts that hold each end of the cowl vent tab to the mounting bracket in the cab?
I know it uses #8-32 bolt.
One bushing goes in the 1/4" hole in each tab on the cover.
Is there a washer or anything between the tab of the cover and the mounting plate in the cab? or is it metal to metal?

Hi Harold: I went through my stash of nuts and bolts and did not find a clutch drive for the windshield to opening tape (I had to use modern heads. (I probably had to grind them off in disassembly). I also tried to take photos of my connection to the cowl vent brackets but I can't get a camera in that spot. I don't know the factory direction for sure either?

Harold and I have exchanged emails on this in recent days. I am aware of four trucks that appear to have used slotted head screws instead of clutch head type on the windshield assembly . I am uncertain clutch heads were used on the windshield divider bar and “T” brackets but do wonder if not used, why there would have been a change from the rest of the cab sheet metal fasteners. The screws used on Sparky do appear to recess into the holes in the divider bar and “T” brackets a tad better than a clutch head might?

I am using tapered slotted head screws. They will match the rest of the screw heads on the windshield.
The Clutch head screws in my division bar were tapered so they fit flush with the metal. I guess there are some things we were never meant to know.
Just have to use our best judgment.
