I do not know.
I have never done this.
However, rubbing with Xylene is used to see if a pool is epoxy painted/coated.

I tried this on my own epoxy primed part , and it did not show on my rag.
Do a google search on the subject and see what you find.

It doesn't prove or disprove that the coating you have is an epoxy because urethane primer is also resistant to solvent. However, you now know that the coating is not lacquer as it is not solvent resistant and would transfer to your rag.. | | |
