Although I would like to keep this 235 stock I can't seem to find an octane selector plate for the install of the distributor. It looks to be made up of two pieces and 216, 235, and 261 are identical. Any thoughts welcome!
The 2 parts are the vacuum advance, and the distributor clamp. I haven't seen the clamp offered by the vendors, but they don't go bad so you can either post a parts wanted add on this site or scrounge old junk yards or fence rows for one.

There are differences in the design depending on the year you need it for. What year and application do you need it for? If it’s the 55-57;style, I have a used clamp I can send you.

Lol. You and I are on the same page my friend. I love the hobby and frankly, over the years, I have had a lot of help from other people with things I did not know or parts I could not find, usually small stuff that drives you crazy. I have a few distributors, some early 48, others the 55-63 versions, all waiting for their turn for a rebuild and a run in on the sun machine, and a box of extra parts just because I hate throwing something useful away. So, like Jerry, always happy to do something nice for someone else when I can. Life is short.

Many new/infrequent members are anxious to only buy/sell/swap. They do not understand that many members search/read old messages, and finding personal buying/selling messages is a waste of searching and of time reading (now and in the future - maybe another 20 years from now).
I’m lost. Did I do something that is improper? I don’t know how to post photos. I was not selling any parts whatsoever. I had no intention of selling parts. Did someone misunderstand the charitable concept of paying it forward? If the reference to infrequent posting and selling parts was directed to me, I would be grateful for an explanation.
