I've used the search and unfortunately all I've come up with are good threads on using the early 70's GM truck IFS on an AD truck. I saw this article on OldChevyTrucks where the guy talked about bolting in a '75 GMC IFS on a '42:
http://www.oldchevytrucks.com/blog/index.php/2001/01/1946-chevrolet-truck/Doesn't mention narrowing it, or cutting anything up like all the AD installs. Says it just "bolts in with 3/8" shims". Anyone done this IFS swap on a '41-'46 truck, or know of a good thread with pics/measurements? I was gonna keep the straight axle and just swap spindles from a '59 to get bendix brakes, but after rebuilding a '67 Dodge and keeping the straight axle I was disappointed in the driveability of the truck. Seriously considering IFS for the '46 now as a result.
Also, my preference would be to somehow retain 6-lug to match the Colorado rear going into the truck and run stock wheels, but I suppose I can fix that later.
