Hey guys, new to the forum here. I just procured a 1970 Chevy c50. Previously a roll on tow truck. getting ready to dig into this project. It has good wheels on the rear end but I need new front wheels and tires. What should I be looking for? I have been reading through the forums here but haven’t found a definitive answer on where to go. Much appreciated for any help

Hy Steve70c50, welcome, we need some more information to properly answer your questions. Are you running tube type wheels/tires or tubeless? What is your wheel lug bolt circle dimension and number used for each wheel?

Thanks after reading the thread I see they have a chart. Not sure how to decide if mine are useable or the deadly kind. 10 lug I believe 8.25-20

The easiest way to tell if you have the "deadly kind" is to look at the fronts, if you can see a split ring on the outside of the front wheel, they are not the Firestone RH5. Those, you would look at the rear outside dual, the split is there on the flat part of the wheel.

1970 is probably tubeless, unless changed.
