For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 2,063 Big Bolt Forum Moderator | | Big Bolt Forum Moderator Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 2,063 | that is the fresh air or deluxe heater. There are deluxe heater controls, (shown here) https://www.americanclassic.com/1955-59-Deluxe-Heater-Control-Assembly-w_-switch-Chevrolet/productinfo/68%2D478/
There are cables that go from the heater control to the heater itself. That valve controls the hot water flow through the heater core (as well as onto the floor in a lot of cases!) | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 | What year truck?
What does the front of the heater look like?
There were different styles of GM "deluxe" heaters, with different controls.
I cannot view your photos for very long - photobucket full-screen pop-up ads takeover. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 2,063 Big Bolt Forum Moderator | | Big Bolt Forum Moderator Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 2,063 | Tim, that looks just like the deluxe heater in a TF truck. I looked back at Stooby's older posts and a 1956 model was indicated in one of them.
Stooby - you might want to post year/make/model in each post - but it looks like 69Cuda has you covered.

Basically, large wide rubber bands! One between blower housing and heater box, and a narrower one between the blower and kick panel.
