I have been quoted prices that swing quite widly and what wanting to get an idea before I went and picked up a couple this weekend. I'm in the process of slowly getting rid of my RH5's and since I need front tires I thought it would be a good time. to start. Thanks for any input.

If you are looking at 22.5 rims with a 6 hole Budd pattern, new ones can get pricey. Steel are in the 250$ range if I recall. I don't think Aluminum are made anymore (unless custom made). You should be able to find used steel 22.5 wheels. I paid 900$ for 6 with almost new tires on them (9R22.5s) a couple of years ago. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 89 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 89 | So, I have 10 bolt 8.75 bolt pattern with a 6.25 center hole. I'm shopping for a 2 or three piece locking ring type to replace my RH5. I wouldn't mind a 22.5 tire rim if I could find it as tires would be a breeze but I have had no luck. I have also come to terms with the fact that some salvage yards just are not interested in hunting down rims with you unless your standing in the office. While I can understand that to a point. I cant really justify driving to every boneyard within 500 miles of me either.

Tubless rim, starting there used, and up to about $200 or some more for a new one
Consider what it may cost you even time and effort, if not actual money, to remove and dispose of old tires.
Then blasting and powder coating if you desire.
Total cost can approach that of a new wheel ready to go, even if the old one you started with was nearly free.

I have been quoted $50 each from a guy who wasn't sure he had any to a guy who said he has some at $125 each. I must be shopping in the wrong area or going about this all wrong. And honestly when I call or go to the bone yard I am the polite non-know it all guy so I don't have to pay the jerk tax! I guess I'm going to keep looking and asking around I would just like to have them on and ready by the time the snow goes up here.

Go and look for yourself.

'37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires.
'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.
