What was the first year for dual rear wheels on a Chevy truck?

ton truck or bigger... what was it?

I'm just curious is all and so far my searching around has not answered my question so I thought I'd ask you folks.

Thanks.

Woogeroo,

The Chevrolet Truck Specifications Manuals would be a good place to start.

The Old Car Manual Project Specifications Manuals section does not go back real far:

1928 shows no dual rear wheels
(but, larger trucks than Utility might not be listed?)
1937 shows dual rear wheels

This 1936 Truck Specifications clearly states 1/2 ton trucks
This 1930 Truck Specifications shows only single wheel on the 1.5 ton truck

Here are links to other Specifications Manuals - large downloads and a lot of reading/scanning through the pages will be necessary

My family owned a couple of 34 Chevy trucks set up as tractor trailer rigs, hauling beer from Milwaukee and St. Louis to Nashville. I'm pretty sure they had dual rear wheels.

1934 had "Factory" dual rear wheels.

I'll look backwards - 1931 and later lists (or, refers to) dual rear wheels and/or 7 wheels.

Friend has a 1928 1.5T stake bed that has dual wheels. Still has four cylinder engine and seems very original. It's in a few scenes in the Hallmark Hall of Fame TV movie, "An American Story".

Yeah, I figured the tractor trailer 5th wheel setups had the dual wheels.

I was wondering about the truck or pickup setups, ton trucks with flat beds or work related beds... and the pickup beds.

Just curious, is all.
