Any fellow bolters know the correct measurement for the cows tongue hood emblem? Photo bucket won’t let me upload pics of where I’m thinking

Mine measures 8 1/2” up from the Chevrolet emblem and 14 from the bottom of the hood.

50-something years ago J.C. Whitney sold those things as an aftermarket addition for Chevy trucks. They called them a "Bull Nose Molding" back then. I guess the cows get gender equality these days!

If you are trying to figure out where to drill the holes to mount the ornament, look at the underside of the hood. You will see an area where the hood half flanges come together where there is what looks like a tube. From the underside of the hood, you drill a hole through there to locate the ornament from the top of the hood. You then can mark the topside of the hood for the other holes needed.
