Trying to find 2 parts and I have no clue what the name is. Engine is a 216
1. Engine block (water jacket) Drain plug. “T” handle looking plug on the drivers side of the truck that drains the antifreeze.
2. The shut off valve to stop antifreeze from going to the heater core.
If you guys know the names, I will go research them.

#2- - - -this can be either a simple screw fitting shutoff valve with a T shaped handle, or one controlled by a cable from inside the dash. The original-equipment cable valve is called a "Ranco" valve, and the best you can get is a good used one. New ones are unobtanium. Several simple aftermarket cable controlled flow restrictor valves are available at local parts stores or on ebay. Search "heater control valve".

Would it make that much of a difference? It would make draining it a lot harder due to lack of controlling the stream. I want to do it the right way, but just asking questions in case of an emergency later down the road.

The petcock has an extended outlet that a piece of 3/8" rubber fuel line fits perfectly if you want to direct the stream into a catch container, etc.

I am thinking about putting on a male portion into the threaded part and putting inline control valve farther down the line. Thoughts? I would really like to have heat this winter if I drive her on nice days.
Edit: Found part and ordered it!
