This is the 3600 a bunch of us are building to raise money for our local veterans' programs. We didn't get anywhere over the weekend since most of the team including me caught a nasty bug that had us all sick over Christmas. 3 of us jumped back on it last night and got the inner fenders, fender braces and most of the rest of the smaller body parts prepped and sprayed with primer.

I did manage last week to get 8 really nice pieces of white oak from a local hardwood supplier, and they will be off to the woodworker tomorrow. My office and the shop we are working out of are both filling up with parts, so we should be able to keep making steady progress. somewhere in the move from the last shop to this one, we did manage to lose one of the rear spring spacers. It doesn't appear to be a part they make anymore, so we will probably get one of our machinist friends to make one. Fortunately it wasn't a more complex part, and we still have a few pieces that need to go to powder coating after the spring work is finished, so it shouldn't be a problem.
Today's list of things to do: call on the wheels, rear axle and engine. If everything works out OK, we will have a rolling chassis within a week.
If you want to see pictures and more specs on the truck, it is on the Rescue Mission's website at boiserm.org and search 1955chevy.
Have a great New Year everyone.

We smoothed out the sheet metal and smeared some paint (gratis) on a 55.2 for a great guy that was donating it to be raffled off for his church veterans assist fund. I can think of no cause more deserving.

So how does a guy buy raffle tickets if we don’t live close by? Inquiring minds who have the bug want to know!

Gents, I sent him an email. If you want to get in on the truck raffle, all you have to do is donate money and state that it is for the raffle.

Sorry for the slow response. The last couple of weeks have been crazy. We have all the body put together except the hood and the running boards. Tons of parts rolling in to complete the brakes, engine setup, and all the million little things that go into a build. It looks awesome with the 30" tall Back Country radials on it and everything shot in primer gray.
One of our main sponsors puts on the Neil Alan Fine jewelry Motorfest car show. They threw us a bit of a curve this week when they let us know the show had to be moved to Jun 30- Jul 01. If you got tickets, the drawing will now be on July 1st instead of June 17th.
Our media folks will have some new pictures and video posted to the website in the next week or two.
Thanks everybody for the interest, and for posting the other cool veterans' builds.
