I was wondering if anyone has seen, or knows where to get, a reproduction passenger side tail light bracket for the AD trucks that came from the factory without a rear bumper. I have the original short drivers side bracket from the '51, but I would like to find a matching bracket for the other side. Unfortunately, all I can seem to find are the tall, older style brackets. Thanks!

I was going to say, if the bracket you are seeking looks anywhere like what Brad is showing in those pics, just make one.

Now you have to take into consideration that I was raised in farm country, but the trucks I remember in the early 50's only had one tail light on the drivers side with a license plate holder. (Chevrolet is what we had) I remember that the state passed a law that two lights were required and we just poked whatever we had laying around on the passenger side. We didn't have any turn signals, just used arm signals. In fact I still do that on the 53, the 55 has stock turn signals. The ones I have seen and mine, Have a flat strait plate with a bend at the bottom to fit under the post bottom its mounted on. Its probably 3/8 inch for the bend at about a 45 deg angle half way the length of the plate. Pretty much the same as the sales places have. The drivers side of mine is mounted at the same place other side, but has a vertical post with the license plate holder and light being raised higher than the right side to clear the bumper (Mostly). Some of the "Original drivers" I have seen so far at the local shows have the strait plate on the right side for 52 and 53. I was also looking into it for my 53 because it came to me with trailer lights mounted at chain height. But in the box of spare parts was the "maybe" original drivers side. And also a strait plate for the drivers side, so I just flipped it over and installed it on the passenger side. Nobody has ever noticed and now I'm telling on myself. No one comes to look at the back end of a truck at a get together anyways.
That is what I have on my 49 and I have another one just like it for my 52 which is under construction. I know nothing of their origin, but they sit level with the left side bracket.

If anyone was curious, here is what my 51's factory original driver's side tail light bracket looks like. The license plate bracket was cut off when a heavy duty bumper was installed. I am probably going to modify my reproduction passenger's side bracket to match.
