I am looking for the "right way" to fix this,, Thanks

What exactly do you want to know. I have a 1963 manual with schematic/wiring diagram. If you are planning on keeping this truck then you need the manual.In the mean time, I will try and help. Give a little more info to your question and state what your experience with wiring is. I understand that you want replace the lamp wiring. Can you just replace with auto wire?
