Engine # c-34265 the c could possibly be a G this # is stamped on the flat surface just behind the dist. Canadian truck i can't seem to find info. On this number . US made doesn't seem to match up. Other 2 block numbers say it is a 1958 -1962 261. Green engine color. Behind the starter the last digit seems to be a 0. Without starter off i can't read the others. Can anyone tell me what year engine i have ? Thanks

Hy can216, it sounds like you have already got an identification of the engine I'm assuming from the block and head casting numbers. If you don't post those numbers here for us to check/verify then we really can't help you. The "C" means commercial (truck). Please remember to tell us the year and size of truck you are inquiring about, thanks.

I just have the engine and 4 speed trans. Engine block green - carb rochester - blk # 3769717 head # 3836850 - engine # c-34265 - behind starter the last digit seems to be a 0 I will need to remove the starter to see more. Is it possible to know the exact build date of the engine? Or the year ? Should be a 59 - 62. 261. I would guess a Canadian truck. Thanks any info. Would be great.
