For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,233 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,233 | I just found 2-gal of DuPont URO 1140 Primer Filler in a box on the shelf from a project we started 20 years ago. There is a gallon of Convertor and a quart of Activator also in the box. Is this stuff still any good? The paint still shakes/moves in the un-opened cans... If it's OK to use, is it compattable with new top coat paints? I once used a can of epoxy primer that had been opened 6 months earlier, then re-sealed. It never would cure totally. The supplier said it was because it had a limited shelf life after opening. It was really a pain to take it all back off.
Nowadays I spray a test patch and see how it goes. I recently painted my wheels with a 20-year-old can of acrylic enamel when a test spray showed it performed like new.
