Optional. They were not required by federal law until 1969 models. Most trucks were "Farm Trucks" operated at low speeds, so not stock.

I agree. Optional. I’ve parted out several trucks and have not seen any factory seat belts except in the 1966 models.
I see you are in NC. I have a 1963 too and I’m in Columbia, SC.

I have what appears to be factory seatbelts in my '62 C-10 so the original owner checked that accessory box when he/she ordered it. drive

It is puzzling as mine looks factory but I have the build sheet and dealership paperwork and they are not noted anywhere. I am doing a frame off and want everything correct. Thanks guys. Lugnutz I have been on here since 2006 but don’t post much.that will change during this process. I’m not gonna be around much longer and I want this truck good for my son who loves it so much. That will be changing with this build. I may have met you at Alvin’s at one of our get togethers.

My father purchased a brand new 63 C10. I remember it came with seat belts that had pull up releases like you see in passenger planes today. Not sure if they were stock or ordered.

Since they were an option, some trucks had them, but not all. Neither my '62 nor my '63 C10s had them when I bought them. I installed them in both. The '63 got them after a bad wreck, and the '62 as soon as I got it because of the wreck in the '63.

[url=https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/docs/gm-heritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits/Chevrolet-Trucks/1963-Chevrolet-Truck.pdf]I do not see seat belts as offered as a Factory Regular Production Option in 1963.[/url

I'll be wrong, again, if it was an option in 1963/64.

1962 - factory RPO in Chevrolet cars
1963 - several states started requiring front seat belts
1968 - Federal Mandate
