They were not required by federal law until 1969 models. Most trucks were "Farm Trucks" operated at low speeds, so not stock. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 2,951 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 2,951 | I agree. Optional. I’ve parted out several trucks and have not seen any factory seat belts except in the 1966 models. I see you are in NC. I have a 1963 too and I’m in Columbia, SC. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,440 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,440 | I have what appears to be factory seatbelts in my '62 C-10 so the original owner checked that accessory box when he/she ordered it.

I am doing a frame off and want everything correct. Thanks guys. Lugnutz I have been on here since 2006 but don’t post much.that will change during this process. I’m not gonna be around much longer and I want this truck good for my son who loves it so much. That will be changing with this build. I may have met you at Alvin’s at one of our get togethers. 1963 Chevy C-10 Fleetside 1970 C-30 Dump Truck 2025 Silverado High Country 2500 Diesel 2012 Indian Chief Vintage serial #002 motorcycle 1946 Indian Chief, 1947 Indian Chief w/sidecar,2014 Indian Chieftain, 2015 Indian Scout | | | | | Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 20 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 20 | My father purchased a brand new 63 C10. I remember it came with seat belts that had pull up releases like you see in passenger planes today. Not sure if they were stock or ordered. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 436 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 436 | Since they were an option, some trucks had them, but not all. Neither my '62 nor my '63 C10s had them when I bought them. I installed them in both. The '63 got them after a bad wreck, and the '62 as soon as I got it because of the wreck in the '63. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,440 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,440 | My ‘62 C-10 has them and they appear factory.ðŸ›

I'll be wrong, again, if it was an option in 1963/64.
1962 - factory RPO in Chevrolet cars 1963 - several states started requiring front seat belts 1968 - Federal Mandate | | |
