I was wondering if there is a way to get the door locks to work. I know my passenger side lock works but I don't have a key for it. My drivers side has never worked. I know I'll have to get a new lock and key for the passenger side, but on a 47 the drivers side doesn't have an out side lock.

I believe the 47 pull down type handles will make it difficult to retro fit a keyed lock onto the drivers side. If you have the pushbottom type handles you could replace the non-keyed cylinder with a keyed cylinder from another passenger side handle or a new lock from the catalog.
You may also consider replacing the locks with bear claw type latches but your drivers door locking from the outside still would not be solved.
You are probably aware of it but if you push your inside door handle forward, it activates the door lock.

I knew the door handle locks the door but the place I am working is insisting that everyone lock their doors for "safety reasons". I guess they think a student is planning on steeling my extra can of oil or something. Any way, My drivers side doesn't even lock with the inside handle. I would guess I would have to replace the locking mechanism in order to get it to work.

just have to open the door up and put things back in order, might just be worn - OTOH, padlocks are cheap, you could always try Mr Beans solution grin

I could get by with Mr Bears solution here, there are plenty of rustically inclined people here. I have had the window regulator off plenty of times, I wish I had fixed it then.
