I'm new around here. I was reading many thread here. But I want to confirm a few thing. First, well I just got delivered my truck. 1955 Chevy 6500, as far as can tell.
Here my question. I want to confirm that all cab from 3100 are all the same. I know floor and door step may varies. Can someone please confirm that.
Fender of the bigbolt, not taking of the coe and stub nose, all tons and haft up truck, all the fender are the same but are not like 1tons nor 3100 pu.
And finally. Where are the must stop shop/website to get good quality parts?
Thanks to you all in advance. | | | | Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 2,061 Big Bolt Forum Moderator | Big Bolt Forum Moderator Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 2,061 | welcome to the site! Yes, the cab is the same from 1/2 ton-2 ton. So is the hood. Fenders are wider and the grill is different.
I believe the 1 1/2 ton and 2 ton fenders are the same (except maybe holes for the side emblems).
It depends on the parts you are looking for. Rock Auto should have brake stuff like hoses and wheel/master cyl kits. Cab parts, Americanclassic and Jim Carters both have a number of cab parts that are the same between pickups and big bolts. . | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | Good advice from 69Cuda
Is it a 1955 First-Series Advance-Design truck, or a 1955 Second-Series Task Force truck?

Rust wise, the truck got the normal spot, but minimal considering in Canada we use salt during winter. The truck got 3-4 coat of paint and some Bondo. I'm looking at maybe changing the driver fender. The headlight was poorly patch and I got 3 stress crack from vibration.

The inner fenders are the same as the pickup. Mike B | | | | Joined: Oct 2017 Posts: 6 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Oct 2017 Posts: 6 | Thanks for all the good tips...
