I'm awaiting parts for the 1 ton and have been twiddling my thumbs so to speak. I have done little jobs here and there on it, but nothing substantial will occur until said parts arrive. So in the meantime I have been measuring (a lot), taking photos and thinking how to brace the cab in preparation to cut out the entire floor pan of my Grandpa's 1970 c10. My measurements show the cab is square to within about a 1/16" of an inch. But now I'm awaiting a cab mount kit for the c10 before I jump in! Haha!
Here's the cancer in this old girl....yeesh.

You have a proven record of combating the dreaded tin worm and a 1970 was a good choice for your Grandpa to purchase.

Will it be as built? or will you add available options? Remember the plastic grill texture is different than the available repro. 69 grill.
The repro. parts book says they are the same but they are not.

Your class will be rooting for it's completion.

Have fun with the work. We will watch it's progress.

Howie.

Hello Howie!
Hope your summer was a good one. Hopefully next year you, Doyle and I can meet up.
Plans for the C10 include:
Stock suspension and rally rims with new bushings, ball joints, etc.
Stock body lines and paint. I might darken the green some and run a painted trim break between the green upper body and planned black lower panels. I might remove the Bow tie from the hood.
Interior- stock with upgraded seat and a 67/68 steering wheel. I like those better.
Engine - hopefully LS3
Trans- 4L--E of some size
I want it to look like Grandpa's truck, but haul soooo much more than it used.

I am aware of the difference in grilles between the two. Doesn't the 70 have the squares in the plastic but also the horizontal, little chrome 5 high "stacks" on it too?

I have my plan formed for bracing the cab and to start the surgery. I just need more time. With my brand new little wrench fetcher, Everett, and my wife needing support, I don't get as much done as before! 😎 Stuff is still moving forward just more slowly these days!

Like this truck but different rims, ride height and paint combo.
