I am currently reassembling a 53 216 for a 1949 Chevy Panel. Unfortunately the donor engine had a missing valve cover and a rust issue on the rockers. I have a parts engine (216) from a 46 Fleetmaster and the rockers look salvageable. So far it looks to me like everything fits. Is there a design change in there that I should look out for?

I know, lots of mixed years here, but it's going to be a driver.

Your 1953 216 can use Rocker Arms from a 1946 216

Parts Manual - see PIC
