i always thought 47-54 firewall pads were the same until today . what is different on a 54 firewall pad from the 47-53 ? i bought one today at a local car swapmeet ,the guy said it was for a 50 chevy truck .

Try a search here - select 1947-1954, and search for firewall cover.

The earlier cover appears to have a few extra cut-outs on the left top. Those cut-outs would most likely not be noticeable when installed on a 54/55st truck?
