I have a dump bed on my 6400 that I don't need. Is it worth trying to remove it or shall I just weld it in place?

one of the rams has a leak and the hoses look sketchy.

I am converting the truck to carry a wood fired oven for catering.

Almost every farm truck had a dump bed. I have about a half a dozen of them laying around and have no use for them. I would bolt it in place. Welds crack when they flex and the 6400 frame flexes a lot.

If you don't need the dump mechanism you'd save some weight to remove it.
Then bolt on the remaining bed, or whatever you have to replace it.
