I was getting drive shaft wobble on my 1951 chevy 3100 with 4 speed. So i went the route of the Okie bushing. I removed front bushing with puller and all was well. I have tired pounding the new okie bushin in and it goes about halfway and stops dead cold.

Is it possible previous owner didnt remove front bushing and just drove it back? if so what is the easiest way to knock all this [censored] back out the front of the tube so I can try again with a clean slate?

People talk about putting these things in with a piece of hardwood and a hammer. I used an old universal yoke, a slab of steel and a sledge hammer. I gave it all I could until it stopped moving. It stopped at the last 1/16" . I am guessing that the end of the bushing was slightly spread. It was all very scary and I hope to not do that again. I have several of these bushings. I noticed that the initial outside diameter is slightly smaller and then nearer the front end it is expanded. For me that is where it got tight.

I don't know how you get it out without taking the whole tube apart.
