On a 66 Chevy, where the parking brake cable goes into the backing plate on the rear axle, is there supposed to be some kind of seal in there? I have the cable component which is the cable housing itself on the outside of the baking plate, and a 3 fingered spring clip that holds it into the backing plate, which is also part of the cable housing. There is also a thin flat washer, but when it's it the backing plate, it seems too loose. I have looked in the manual, and some of the parts catalogs but see nothing. I do see in the LMC catalog that it shows some kind of a seal with a slot in it(?). Are any of you familiar with what should be in there?
