I’m having trouble with both roll-down windows on a 53 AD.

I bought the whole door rubber kit some time ago and installed it.
At first all was well, but over time both windows have tightened
up, and won’t go past halfway down without pushing on them.
Can this be due to older, worn window regulators? Or is
there some advice or experience on lubricating/greasing the window
channels that might be the way to keep things slidin’?

You could try to spray silicone spray in the channels. Mabey the channels have build up of felt in them.

My new felt channels disintegrated in short order. The gum and felt balled up in the channel, but just down in the door, not up around the glass. I tried a number of fixes, but finally scraped it all out from the lower section. Works fine now.
