I am certain this question has been asked, but I cant seem to find and answer.

Will I burn out a 6 volt original 1941-46 truck horn if it is powered by 12 volts?

Nope, unless you try to wake the dead by laying on it for an extended period. As a kid my dad would go to the salvage yard & buy a six volt horn every time we traded cars. They were much louder on 12v & dad liked loud. Just use it as you do a normal 12v horn and you'll have no issues.

I'm doing the same thing on my '38. Yes, it's loud!
