Anyone know where I can find a brake line for a 1974 C-50 dump truck? It's the one that goes from wheel cylinder to wheel cylinder. Did I say it was on the rear? I believe it is on the right rear. It is made like a simi-circle with a 90 degree on each end. Looking for a friend of mine and we have looked everywhere. Any help out there? Thanks in advance.

That line will probably have to be made with a tubing bender and a double flaring tool. You might be able to do a little creative bending on a pre-made line close to the correct length and avoid having to do any flaring.

They are pretty easy to make. Oreilly, auto zone, etc. will lend you the flaring tool. Lots of YouTube video on how to use it.

Thanks everyone, I figured we would have to make it. I bent one but didn't pay attention and it had the wrong fitting one one end, so I guess I'll have to do another one. Just looking for an easy out. I have the benders but have lost the adapters for the double flare. Hot Rod, I told my friend he would probably have to check with several parts houses until he found one with the correct fittings on each end and then I would put the bend in it for him. Oh well, it was worth a try. Thanks everyone.

I think the thread pitch on the fittings for the interconnecting brake lines (line that goes between the wheel cylinders) is different and no longer available requiring you to reuse the old fittings. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

Most of the pre-made lines have a longer flare nut on one end of the line, but it has the same flare angle and thread pitch as the shorter one. Depending on how the nut fits into the wheel cylinder, that may or may not work. Good luck!

The copper nickle lines that they have now bend a little easier and I find it easier getting a seal at the flare with them.

Just wanted everyone to know that we got the brake line made. Looks good and doesn't leak. Thanks for all the help.

Time of celebration. A hot dog and cold Pepsi would go good about now and all while giving yourself a pat on the back.
Glad it worked out.
