I have purchased a used road breather and plan on plugging the end off and installing the PCV in the top of the breather as others advised I should from the start. My bad, but now I am curious if the road breather was painted to the original color grey of the engine or painted black?

I've been considering trying this and from what I've read the valve has to be right for the engine. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | Inside the top of the tube is a smaller one, offset with some holes in one side. This represents a circular baffle and the path to the downward part of the tube is through the holes. I installed a piece of pipe that blocked off the holes. I then installed my PCV in the top cover. the lower piece is completely blocked off. This system works perfectly for me. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2016 Posts: 916 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2016 Posts: 916 | Did you check to see if your breather baffle plate is missing inside the block?
Also, be sure to clean that old breather out- mine was totally blocked when I removed it- air would not pass in either direction.
