For 1/2 ton v8, what weight oil do you use in the oil bath air cleaner?

Just out of idle interest, what year truck/engine?

On Stovebolt 6-cylinder engines, the recommended weight was/is 50.

50 wt oil seems to be recommended for all size engines' oil bath air cleaners through at least 1960.
I'll check your year/engine after you post it here.

I use 50 wt oil in my 59 283.

My service manual says same weight as engine.

'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.
