For 1/2 ton v8, what weight oil do you use in the oil bath air cleaner?

30 or 40 weight.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Just out of idle interest, what year truck/engine?

On Stovebolt 6-cylinder engines, the recommended weight was/is 50.

50 wt oil seems to be recommended for all size engines' oil bath air cleaners through at least 1960.
I'll check your year/engine after you post it here.
