I purchased and installed a new electric wiper motor to replace the Trico motor. The new motor comes with nylon bushings. The transmission arms slip onto the ends of the motor arm. But, the new bushings prevent them from slipping down far enough to put on the retainer clip. So, if I hit a good bump, the arm comes off.

The "instructions" [cough, cough] say to remove the old bushings from the transmission arm. But, it doesn't say how to do that.

How do I remove the old bushings from the wiper transmission arms?

Thanks again for y'all's help. Love this place.

They are rubber I believe, which has hardened to very hard condition. I would work on them with channel locks and break them of bit by bit.
