Well I have now found a couple of engines (4) for my 42 1 1/2 ton truck witch I will bring home for spears
The only engine I can't ID is 3835124 if someone can help that would be great

'37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires.
'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

The link helped with ID of the engine so when I dismantle the engine I will be able to see if it's a 47 or a 48 motor

Stamped # on pad behind distributor is LCM7I059 (the "I" is not a 1).
The # beside the CON 4 is A 228.
The casting # on the head below the "GM" is 3835517
The date code on the head is B 191
The bosses on the sides of the engine are threaded, so it may be a car engine.

Look at the first 3 letter again, could the "C" be "D"? L = year 1953 C = 216 4000 Series M = Tonowanda Check your date code and see if A228 is really A223 (Jan. 22, 1953) which would line up with the serial number... Oh, the letter "eye" is used for the number "1". Unit numbers start at 1001, so you have the 70,059 engine.
