.
Here is something that you can do when replacing your cab to the frame.
NOTE i have left tips about doing the same to the BED of your truck . . . . see /read Carolines truck in tips area

i bought scrap hard rubber from sacramento rubber co. and came up with this thought when I restored the 51 ... 3104 we own.

it utilizes a rubber strip about 14-16'' long by 2-3'' wide. sorry i never took a photo when i did mine so I made this drawing
see link

you'll need a pop rivet at the interior end but the cab bolt will hold the strip @ the far end. it allows a LARGER PAD to cushion the cab against the frame. since mine was scrap it's 2'' wide. about $3.00 for what i bought. which was enough to do my cab and 6 locations x2 under and on top of the oak blocks i made for the BED CUSHION.

there ya go

Have fun driving in the sun.[

I have read about this type of mod for the front cab mounts and was about to do it a while back.
I decided not to when I started to think about how the rear cab mount shackles work in unison with the original small front cab mount rubber to prevent cab flexing/metal fatigue/sheet metal tearing caused by extreme frame flexing on uneven roads.
I was thinking that using the large rubber pads on the front would prevent all movement in the front of the cab which would put undue stress on the cab when frame flex caused the rear shackles to articulate.
BTW, to clarify, I am not a mechanical engineer, nor do I ever stay at the Holiday Inn.
