Several parts suppliers sell a new steel front fender for the 47-53 truck. The one at Chev's of the 40's seems to have a seam that runs from the bottom of the headlight bucket opening to the bottom of the fender. They said it was a "shadow" in the picture. Anyone have any experience with these?

there is a seam that runs from the headlight towards the grille & one that runs straight down the front of the fender. I figured they do this to allow them to interchange the fenders from 47-53 & 54-55 (1st series).
I have the new fenders that Dynacorn produced, a very good friend bought them for me. The fenders look very good & seem to fit well.
Heres the link to the pics,

Did the fenders feel like they were made from the same gauge steel as the originals?

wv_Hillbilly,
thanks for providing that information and those photos. I have been trying to find out about those fenders for a long time. They look really decent on your truck there.

What was the thickness of the metal used? Similar guage to OEM?

Thanks

I just measured the thickness of them today, I measured .045 on the new ones & the same on the original ones.
