Hope someone can come up with a quick fix. It's not uncommon to get a short to ground inside the dimmer.

The insulation is starting to fall off after 75 years, replacing the complete wiring is not a job I am wanting to do. For now I am only going to replace what is causing the problem and I have checked out the cost of a complete harness from Jim Carter $600.00 WOW!!!! Thanks again for all your help.
