| | | | Joined: Mar 2000 Posts: 784 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2000 Posts: 784 | How often do you guys repack your front wheel bearings? Do you have a favorite grease? Is it necessary to replace the inner seal or can the old one be reused if it is in still in good condition?
I know these are basic questions, but It's always good to know what you are getting into before things get torn apart.

If they are packed & adjusted correctly they will go several years before needing attention again. I use a good brand of Lithium grease that is recomended for disc brakes.

It stays put at much higher temperatures than chassis grease, and brakes generate a bunch of heat. Seals are inexpensive enough that I'm not a fan of reusing one. Why take a chance of ruining a hub or a spindle, or soaking a set of brakes if there's a leak?
