64 chevy C30 1 ton panel, dropped the tank, cause it had gummed up fuel, had tank inspected, and cleaned, my problem, is that I would like to know if any one here knows where I might find a new fuel sending unit

Not sure if your FLAPS carries them, they might. Otherwise go to the top of the page and click on 'links' then 'parts', lots of suppliers.

GM should have used the same one for all trucks. Panels and suburbans are different.
Maybe you don't know any aftermarket 60-66 vendors yet. Here is a sender that may be the one.

well after looking, still no luck on finding a sending unit for my 1 ton C30 panel, I did get it cleaned, reinstalled, and put tank back in, now it reads full when I turn on the key, all wiring is correct, so now I am going to remove the tank, to see if the sending unit is stuck in the full up position, if not I will look for a different kind, and make it work.
so if any one here has a panel with a side mounted tank, and a good sending unit, let me know

If it reads full, you might not have the sender grounded. Run a wire from a sender mounting bolt to a good/clean ground.

This assumes the gauge goes back to zero when the ignition is off?

panel had been setting in field, when I got her home, I did not put a battery in her to see what electric was good, so the gage read 1/2 full, when I did get a battery, the tank had old fuel, hence is why I dropped the tank, no one has this fuel sender, and I have 2 that the parts people said that would work, they are for a truck, so I cleaned mine up checked it with a ohm meter and it showed ok 0 ohms down, 30 ohms up or full, so I am going to take the tank back out and see if the float is stuck in full or if sender is any good, will let all know what I find

Run a ground wire from a sender attachment screw to some clean metal/bolt/screw on the frame (right side, if you find a ground place).

Do not waste any time removing the tank until you verify that the top of the sending unit is grounded to a part of the truck which is solidly grounded to the battery.
I hope 3 hints is the charm.
Full reading with ignition on is a textbook symptom for bad ground to sending unit.

ok so here is what i found, i went and located the wire that runs from the tank, took it all out, took my ohm meter, and checked it, no continunity, so i looked to see if there was a brake in the line, and i found that the top that goes to the sending unit was broken, the rubber protector hid the part that goes to the sending unit, went to parts store and found a connector that fit, installed it and low and behold, the gauge works, went and filled her up and i watched as i filled her up and she reads, so problem fixed, want to thank all here, for all the info, and the help
