I'm wanting to pull the cab off for several reasons. Can anyone tell me how the steering column is removed and how difficult removal is? Also how to remove the floor shift lever. I looked at the device constructed in the tech section that only requires the steering wheel removed.

Steering column is part of the steering box, they do not come apart. Should be a couple bolts holding the gear box to the frame. Pull the pitman arm off using a heavy duty puller and big hammer before unbolting from frame. Once it is free, jack up the front of the truck fairly high, and the assembly will slide out.

If you are careful, you can pull the steering wheel and leave the column when lifting the cab. You just have to pull cab up and backwards at the same time to keep from hitting the column. The retainer that holds the gear to the frame is round, so loosen the bolts and the whole assembly will rotate, which will help in clearing the cab as it comes up.

Thanks, I did a search on this site and didn't find much. Then I remembered using a larger search engine (Google) would be better and actually found a good bit of info here.

The floor shifter is easily removed by pushing down against the spring while turning anti clockwise. Channel lock pliers work well.
