For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2016 Posts: 37 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2016 Posts: 37 | My engine lunges badly when I start out in first gear. I have done everything that I can think of to correct this problem. Timing, plugs, vacuum advance, etc. It doesn't make any difference cold or warm. The engine runs great going down the road, but I have to shift into second right away when starting out, or I will get a stiff neck. The carb was rebuilt, but the shaft on the base has a lot of play and appears to be running rich. (Black sought when cold) My 235 only takes 4 quarts of oil. I do not have a filter. Is that correct? Any suggestions? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 | | | |
