My engine lunges badly when I start out in first gear. I have done everything that I can think of to correct this problem. Timing, plugs, vacuum advance, etc. It doesn't make any difference cold or warm. The engine runs great going down the road, but I have to shift into second right away when starting
out, or I will get a stiff neck. The carb was rebuilt, but the shaft on the base has a lot of play and appears to be running rich. (Black sought when cold) My 235 only takes 4 quarts of oil. I do not have a filter. Is that correct? Any suggestions?
