Normally I would have covered it in the same old primer I've been shooting for 50 years, but thought it would be a great time to use PPG 2K primer.
There is still body work to do and even some cutting and welding. Normally no problem with the old primer.
Am I going to have any problems spot painting these areas with the 2k? You have it all down to bare metal, why not spray it with something that will likely outlive you?
It lays down nice and sands a lot better than I expected.
Once you get done with the body work, give it another coat to seal in any filler. This can be done one area at a time if you you cannot knock out the cab body work in quick order.
