I have a 1949 3100 that I put in a 283 with a TH400 running a 373 rear end out of a 56 Chev. I have the stock tire size that was stock but I changed it to 15" 15-670. I am looking for some help on figuring out what speedometer gear is the right one to use. Or even one that will get me close.

If tires are 27.5 inches tall with a 3.73 rear gear then if drive gear is Pink 7 teeth then use a 19 tooth driven gear truck code J. If drive gear is black 8 teeth then use a 21 tooth driven gear truck code L.

What color is your present drive gear? On your driven gear housing it should say what driven gear teeth can be used.
