| | | | Joined: Jun 2015 Posts: 59 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2015 Posts: 59 | I have a oil leak at rear axle 3/4 ton H052 1962 GMC it appears to be leaking between hub and drum,no oil leaking at axle flange, no oil appears to be leaking out of brake drum . I removed the wheel the oil looks like it is leaking on the outboard side of the drum. I bought new axle seals and I was wondering if the hub and drum need to be split apart and sealed up.

There is a slinger that has a gasket and is supposed to direct oil that leaked out to the outside.
