I have all original sheet metal and it is without rust. The question I have is the tail gate and front bed panel has quite a few dents and was wondering if any of you have purchased repopped bed parts and if so was it pretty straight or was there body work to be done on them too? I am not building a show piece but want it looking nice, and am looking at some labor intensive pieces there to get nice looking. 1953 Chevrolet 3100261 cu inch, sm420, 3.55 rear, torque tube still, omaha orange, still 6 volt, RPO green glass, side carrier spare, all done In the DITY GalleryVideo of the 261 running1964 GMC 1000305 Big Block V6, sm420, the next cab off restoration

'Labor intensive' is an understatement on the bed sides. The insides were no problem, cause it's all flat surface, but the outsides, under the rail and around the stake pockets, were really fun. But, they got done, and then you look back at it a week later, and say, that wasn't that bad.

I'm extremely happy with it.

It does have the dimples where it was spot welded and a lot of people like to fill and level them. I did not, if you look at the original they did not worry about that type of detail. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 1,518 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 1,518 | tHANKS GUYS FOR THE INFO, THINKING i AM GOING TO REPLACE THESE TWO PIECES 1953 Chevrolet 3100261 cu inch, sm420, 3.55 rear, torque tube still, omaha orange, still 6 volt, RPO green glass, side carrier spare, all done In the DITY GalleryVideo of the 261 running1964 GMC 1000305 Big Block V6, sm420, the next cab off restoration

My orignal bed had been used like a work truck. Would have been far to labor intensive to repair them. Everything looked like the orignal. All the panels fit perfectly. I would highly recommend them them to anybody that is thinking of purchasing new bed parts for an AD Truck.
