Sorry I have to ask this but I have been searching for over an hour now and have not found what I am looking for.

I have a 51 GMC 102-22 with a 228 motor. Motor number is 228372652. I remember seeing a correlation between the 372652 and a build date somewhere, but I no longer can find it. Does anyone have info on where to find it??

You might want to join oldGMGtrucks.com discussion board. People have posted good photos of locations of engine block/head date casting codes.

And/or check out the website - there is info there on GMC serial numbers. It includes dates/years for truck sequence numbers (the number you show)
