For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 18 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 18 | Sorry I have to ask this but I have been searching for over an hour now and have not found what I am looking for.
I have a 51 GMC 102-22 with a 228 motor. Motor number is 228372652. I remember seeing a correlation between the 372652 and a build date somewhere, but I no longer can find it. Does anyone have info on where to find it?? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | You might want to join oldGMGtrucks.com discussion board. People have posted good photos of locations of engine block/head date casting codes.
And/or check out the website - there is info there on GMC serial numbers. It includes dates/years for truck sequence numbers (the number you show) | | |
