The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop basic zero rust question

I have spent a week under the truck, (which for a guy 6-3 and 300 lbs is never an easy task) with a drill and brush getting the loose rust off (hint- don't do that when its 100 degrees out!) I just used my first quart of zero rust, looks great, (Also makes my grey hair a great black color as well and I suspect lasts a whole lot longer than a dye job!)

My question is real basic, with my second quart do I zero rust the leaves? It seems to me with their constant movement its going to crack anyway, what is the correct thing to do? Is there anything else that should not get painted?

Leaves? Are you talking about the hinges? If so, you can ZR them also. It will not crack off. I have painted mine with the top coat and they seem to hold up fine.

ZR will hold on where the leafs don't scuff each other, but the factory didn't paint the springs
