I located a set of 22.5,6 bolt stud piloted wheels. They
are the discontinued Accuride 28157. Upon inspection, I noticed the lug nut seats in the chamfer of the wheel a little deeper than the lug nut in my original widow maker wheels on my truck. My questions are, Is this an area that experiences this type of wear? How much wear is acceptable before a wheel is no longer fit for service?

That is rather common, and lots of them ran many miles like that. It usually comes from some fool not knowing when to quit with an impact.

Hy viking58, there are a set of tools available for checking the wheels and the mounting hardware for wear and acceptability of continued use. The set I have have the Accuride name on them, a big truck tire shop probably has a set and they may be able to order you a set, hope that helps.

This catalog has some good technical info in the back.
Look at pages 39 and 40 for inspecting and evaluating used wheels.

The lug nuts are recessed an 1/8 of an inch deeper in the holes than on my current wheels. Hopefully the tools suggested will determine there fate. I read the Accuride tech pages on identifying wheel damage. There are no specs on acceptable bolt hole distortion. I have searched for more info as far as acceptable measurements and turned up nothing. If I c0me up with any substantial info I will post so others can learn from my experience.
Thanks for the replies and info.
