1. Need advice on the size & style of bolts to use on mounting the fender to the running board (6 Bolts)
2. Do the Bolts go from the Fender to the Running Board or from the Running Board to the Fender?
3. What do I use to mount the Running Board to the Cab and the filler below the bed?
Thanks for your assistance.

Harold, I just got thru installing running boards and fenders on both of the 46 that I am working on. I used stainless hardware on everything to keep the rust down and I used a tap to chase all the mounting hold in the cab and radiator support so you can start the bolts easer. I used 1/4 20 3/4 and went thru the running board to the fender to hide the extra length of the bolts. You need to get a running boards mounting kit from one of the dealers, because you need special bolt to lock them in the running board and they have a bigger flat head on the 1/4 20. One other thing I would mount the splash guard on the running board and frame before mounting the rear fender, it is almost impossible to install them with the rear fender on. Do not tight any of the fenders and running boards bolts up until you have everything installed (both fenders and running boards). You can do it by yourself, but it is a lot easer with two. Running boards go on first. PM me with any questions, Good luck Jerry

Jerry,
Thanks for replying. I will contact vendors & see what kits they have. Also thanks for the tip on the splash guard.

Hi Harold:
I used carriage bolts for the running boards to frame/running board supports.(They are captured in the running board. I used 1/4 20 for the running board to fender. I recall you have to put the nut on the fender side because at least one of the bolts is so tight against the running board there is no room to put a nut on the running board side. I also used fender washers. The splash guards from the bed to the running board I also recall using carriage bolts. I get to move back to WA later this summer so I can take pictures if you need them. You will probably be done by then!
