| | | | Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 19 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 19 | I would like to put a different tranny in my 41 burb (216 engine) that has synchronizers in it. (mine is shot also). What can I bolt up to the 216? I realize I will be swapping out the rear for an open driveshaft.

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 583 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 583 | You could use a 41 3-speed transmission, it was sychronized. Same gear ratio in high gear, 1-1 as the 4 speed. My 39 stake truck has a 3-speed. Bonus with a 3 speed you won't have to double clutch to shift. You could keep your existing rear end, torque tube assembly. Just a thought.
